So I’m guessing most of you have heard by now that Disney has acquired Marvel. (If you haven’t I’ll post a link with the information)

I was in Up Against the Wall yesterday and I saw the new Complex mag cover at the counter… it looks amazing. Covers like this remind me why humans need art in their lives. Whether they’re making the art or just viewing it, it makes life more enjoyable. As soon as I saw the cover it made me smile. The imagination that this artist portrayed and the execution of his work was very inspiring. Below is the picture of the covers and a picture from the process of making one. This has been out for a little while but I wanted to make sure EVERYONE has heard it. It’s definitely one of Lupe’s best.
Lupe has been doing his thing since his first mixtape. His lyrics are captivating and his rap style only adds to the compelling execution of his songs. His albums are some of the few I can listen through every time without skipping tracks. Be sure to be on the lookout for his new album “Lasers”

I ran up on this guys showcase website a little while ago (i don’t remember how, probably delicious.com) but as soon I saw the first picture I fell in love with his style. His ’tilt’ collection had me turning my laptop in circles trying to capture how he made that happen. Did he have his subjects pose that way or use a green screen? - I have no idea, but his photography skills are sick. Below is the link to his website and a couple of my favorite pictures by him. David Brownings is an illustrator based in Bristol currently at UWE. His hand made works (the sneaker and pop up) are simply amazing but his illustrations are nothing to dismiss. His work is all-around incredible. It looks like he is just really starting to put his works out there and I look forward to seeing more of his art. Lately I have been running into a lot of paper made objects (sneakers, hats, etc). The creativity and execution is mind-blowing. I’m going to start experimenting with it and see what I can come up with.
